2012Pretty Pink Sparkle Sweet
That was our Valentine’s Day aperitif…Villa Jolanda Moscato Rosé…a lovely Italian sparkling sweet wine. I thought a nice pink beverage served in champagne glasses would be a great way to toast the evening.
I was a little skeptical as I don’t like sweet wines and this does say “dolce / sweet” but my husband likes sweet so decided to go for it. At $10 a bottle, why not!?!
I was pleasantly surprised by the strawberry, raspberry and vanilla notes combining together for a nice natural sweet flavor. Pairing it with an aged Gouda cheese was perfect…the sharpness of the cheese cut down on the sweetness of the wine, and the sharp cheese flavor was lessened by the wine.
If you’re looking for a nice sparkling aperitif or dessert wine, this is a great choice.
Cheers!
