New Year, BEST You! … Consciousness Cleanse

It’s the first week of January and many of us have the goal of making this the BEST year ever!  This week we’re looking at tools that can help you set out in the right direction. Monday’s Create a Vision Board. Tuesday’s Write your Unlimited Life Plan. Wednesday’s Pave Your Life Roadmap. Now let’s take a look at some great natural cleansing for the body (great way to start out ‘get fit’ goals) AND the soul (great for ALL goals).

The 21-Day Consciousness Cleanse

“New Year’s resolutions often fail because toxic emotions and experiences from our past can sabotage us or keep us stuck with the same old thoughts, patterns and regrets. So we end up with the same fruitless results. Can you imagine waking up today without your past history of doubt, fear and the perceptions that limit you or keep you stuck in repetitive patterns? Can you imagine being able to design a deep and meaningful future based on your soul’s greatest expression and your heart’s deepest desires rather than on old, outdated, unmet needs and beliefs?”

“This is what’s possible when you’ve cleansed your consciousness. This is the magic of The 21-Day Consciousness Cleanse: A Breakthrough Program for Connecting with Your Soul’s Deepest Purpose by Debbie Ford. When you clear away the outdated beliefs, assumptions, behaviors and habits that are embedded in your human operating system, you will be able and ready to install the 2010 version of your greatest life. Your New Year’s resolutions won’t be a wish, a fantasy that you hope to fulfill, but a reality that’s day has come.”

“The 21-Day Consciousness Cleanse is a detox diet for the soul. When you take the time to cleanse your physical body of accumulated stress and toxicity, you are rewarded with increased vitality and optimal health. In the same way, the consciousness cleanse is designed to purify your mind and emotions, bringing you enormous amounts of strength, confidence and deep inner peace.”

I did this last year and found it really helpful! It took me more like 40 days to get through it but still very glad I did it and helped get me on a regular meditation schedule too.

All of this and the full cleanse are on Oprah.com or you can buy the book.

New Year, BEST You! … Pave Your Life Roadmap

It’s the first week of January and many of us have the goal of making this the BEST year ever! This week we’re looking at tools that can help you set out in the right direction. Monday’s Create a Vision Board. Tuesday’s Write Your Unlimited Life Plan. Today’s tool, Pave Your Life Roadmap, can help if you’re REALLY stuck on ‘what do I want to do with my life?’ The Roadmap helped me and several of my friends redirect our lives toward our passions.

Pave Your Life Roadmap

Idea Sandbox’s process will (1) assist you in identifying what you’re most passionate about and (2) help you incorporate those passions in your daily life. By living your passions, you’ll be a happier and more fulfilled person!

The key steps to crafting your Roadmap are…

  1. List Your Passions – Make a list of all the things you are passionate about.
  2. Identify Values – Group your passions into themes.
  3. Set the Situation – Determine what conditions should exist for you to feel you’re fulfilling your Values.
  4. Reveal Action Steps – Identify what daily activities you should be doing to fulfill your Values.
  5. Visual Report Card – Draw a graph to visualize and assess your current status. (Don’t worry, no drafting tools required).
  6. Take Action / Follow Your Roadmap – Now that you have the keys. Get behind the wheel and follow this plan to drive your life.

While this can take a little work, stick to it. I promise you…it will help you get clarity on where you want to go!

New Year, BEST You! … Write Your Unlimited Life Plan

It’s the first week of January and many of us have the goal of making this the BEST year ever!  If you’re still contemplating your path, I’ll share a few tools this week that may help.

Unlimited Life Plan: Determining a Destination

In 2009 I picked up the colorful spiral bound book Living Out Loud: Activities to Fuel a Creative Life, by Keri Smith. There are tons of activities in the book to get your creative juices flowing. The first activity, “Unlimited Life Plan: Determining a Destination,” really helped me and I’m revisiting it now. Stuck with what to put on your Vision Board, use the question list below to put together your path to making this the BEST year.

Keri writes “How do we create the life & career we want? Where do we start? In order to manifest new energy and success in our lives we need to create a detailed image of what the next destination looks like and formalize a map for getting there… Begin by creating a detailed image of your ideal life. Put it on paper; make it as full and as decadent as you wish. Dream big. Age is not a factor. You can reinvent your life at any time. Answer the following questions as if you were already living your ideal life. Get into character! Think big! Its your ideal life – you can pretend anything! (Or just start writing stream of consciousness!)”

Use the questions below and start writing your Unlimited Life Plan…

  • Where do you live? Describe what your home looks like.
  • What kind of people have you surrounded yourself with?
  • Who are your best friends? what makes those relationships work?
  • What do you do on a daily basis that fulfills your emotional, spiritual, and physical needs?
  • How do you enjoy your spare time?
  • Look at the clothes you are wearing. What do they say about you?
  • How would you describe your chose profession?
  • Describe your work setting.
  • Whom do you work with?
  • Describe your ideal client and your ideal working relationship.
  • What do you enjoy most about your career?
  • How much money do you make?
  • What do you spend your money on?
  • Have you acquired any awards or honors?
  • Describe how you think your peers view you.
  • How do you view yourself?
  • What do your admirers say about you and your work?
  • What would you like to contribute to your field?
  • What would you like to contribute to your community?

Keri’s also has a fun website and many other books. The possibilities are endless! :)

New Year, BEST You! … Create a Vision Board

It’s the first week of January and many of us have the goal of making this the BEST year ever!  If you’re still contemplating your path, I’ll share a few tools this week that may help.

Vision Board

This is a great tool to help you literally envision the life you want to create. Oprah.com has a great section, O Dream Board, Envision Your Best Lifeâ„¢, to help you create your own Vision Board!  (I know… it’s all Oprah right now with the launch of her new network OWN, but I love her and she’s full of great advice and inspiration.)

The O Dream Board has 3 sections to help you build your board and figure out what to put on it.

  • Where to Start: Create your own board on line with quotes, photos and words to inspire and motivate you daily. You can save it, print it, change it as you go. “The first step in creating your best life is to have a clear vision of how you want your life to look in the future.”
  • Find Yourself: Take the Who Am I Meant to Be? quiz to hone in on what you want to do. This section and each of the others have links to inspirational ideas and articles.
  • Explore Your Creative Side: “The path to creating the life of your dreams starts with taking a little time each day to explore your imagination.” Great tips in this article to help and links to other suggested techniques to get your creative juices flowing.

Happy 2012 Visioning!

Your Ideal Life

I just finished a GREAT little book (& quick read) with a ton of focus on YOU … Living Out Loud: Activities to Fuel a Creative Life by Keri Smith. The book was born out of a column she wrote that “attracted a following of people who shared a common goal: to find the courage to make a living doing what they love.”

Living Out Loud by Keri Smith

The first activity that called to me was the “Unlimited Life Plan: Determining a Destination.”

Keri writes “How do we create the life & career we want? Where do we start? Answer the following questions as if you were already living your ideal life. Get into character! Think big! Its your ideal life – you can pretend anything! (Or just start writing stream of consciousness!)”

Check out the questions below. I’ll share more with you when I finish my ‘plan’ but as I’ve started writing its exciting & exhilarating for those looking for their NEXT STEP!

  • Where do you live? Describe what your home looks like.
  • What kind of people have you surrounded yourself with?
